Newark Bikeways resource
BikeNewark continues its work on developing and implementing wayfinding signage for the city’s Newark Bikeways low-stress network. To date, six of the eight segments of the network are fully signed, with the remaining two bikeway segments to be developed and signed in tandem with planned city bicycle-specific improvement projects.

Bike to Work Day – May 17
Bike Newark is again partnering with five organizations to help Newark celebrate National Bike to Work Day. Bike into town for the event, which includes free breakfast food, a free T-shirt (while supplies last), and more than $200-worth of random giveaways to those who register their attendance at the event.

Accomplishments in 2023
BikeNewark was busy last year in a number of ways—helping the City move up in its League of American Bicyclists BFC status, working on improvement projects, promoting bicycle safety, organizing events with its partner organizations, soliciting funding, increasing membership, and supporting other groups’ activities.
